Dental Implants
Dental implants are a great way to replace missing teeth and also provide a fixed and permanent solution to having removable partial or complete dentures. Implants can be used to replace single missing teeth, or multiple missing teeth by supporting a bridge. However, Implants provide excellent support and stability for dental appliances such as partial or full dentures also.
Dental implants are artificial roots and teeth that are surgically placed into the upper or lower jaw bone. The Zirconia custom crowns, created in our state-of-the-art laboratory, attached to implants are very natural looking and will enhance and restore your smile, aesthetics and complete function!
Reasons for dental implants:
- Replace one or more missing teeth without affecting adjacent teeth.
- Resolve joint pain or bite problems caused by teeth shifting into missing tooth spaces.
- Restore a patient’s confidence and smile.
- Restore chewing, speech, and digestion.
- Restore or enhance facial tissues.
- Support a bridge or denture, making them more secure and comfortable.
What does getting dental implants involve?
The process of getting implants requires a few visits over several months.
Z-rays and/or a 3D CT scan are taken of the jaw and teeth to determine bone, gum tissue, and spacing available for an implant. Your treatment will also be digitally planned to ensure optimal placement, function and long term success of the procedure. While the area is numb, the implant will be surgically placed into the bone and allowed to heal and integrate itself onto the bone for up to four months.
The next step is to place the custom abutment (connecting piece between the implant and crown). This is done in one pain-less visit.
After several weeks of healing the Zirconia teeth are made and fitted to the post portion of the anchor. The Zirconia teeth are securely attached to the implant, providing excellent stability and comfort to the patient. Zirconia is a new, technologically advanced material from which it is possible to create a perfect fit and aesthetic match in any case. Zirconia is also stronger than traditional porcelain/metal restorations and perfectly blends in with the existing natural dentition.
You will receive care instructions when your treatment is completed. Good oral hygiene, eating habits, and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your new implant.
